The pump is noisy or humming/vibrating

A loud, humming, or vibrating operation can usually be quickly fixed with a few troubleshooting steps. Common causes are too low water level, deposits in the pump, incorrect pump positioning, or an unsuitable base.

You can systematically narrow down the cause with the following points.

Possible causes and troubleshooting steps:

1) Check the water level

A water level that is too low is one of the most common causes of noise. The pump must be completely covered with water so that it can run quietly and smoothly.

Therefore check:

• whether enough water has been added

• whether the water level is above the minimum mark

• whether the pump is fully submerged in water

A water level that is too low can cause humming, vibrations, or irregular operation.

2) Clean the pump

Deposits, hair, or dirt inside the pump can cause noise and affect operation.

For cleaning:

• Remove the pump

• Open the pump cover

• Carefully remove the impeller (rotor)

• Clean all parts thoroughly with water

• Remove hair and residues completely

Regular pump cleaning often significantly improves operation.

3) Check the position of the pump

The pump must sit firmly and straight in the designated holder. A tilted or loose position can cause vibrations and additional noise.

Make sure that:

• the pump is correctly aligned

• it sits firmly in the holder

• no parts are misaligned

Proper seating is crucial for quiet operation.

4) Check the base

Make sure the fountain stands on a level, stable, and non-slip surface.

Uneven or unstable surfaces can:

• amplify vibrations

• transmit humming noises

• make the fountain appear unstable

A stable base often noticeably reduces noise.

5) Check water flow and assembly

If the cover, outlet, or other components are not properly seated, this can affect the water flow and cause additional noises.

Quickly check:

• whether all parts fit flush

• whether the water outlet is correctly installed

• whether the water flow is steady
